Story
One of our physiotherapy colleagues has been in Glasgow with her daughter who has been having treatment for a brain tumour. Lydia has very courageously completed LOTS of treatment and is hopefully coming home in the coming months. When we asked what we could do, the family were keen that appreciation was shown to the charities that have supported them through this journey
The Physiotherapy team want to support this and are therefore planning a collective sponsored “Walk Lydia Home”, virtually covering the distance from her home in Harris to the QEUH and back again – a distance of 524 miles in the month of May. Some team members will be swimming (there is the Minch to cross after all) and cycling (safety crew!) We do expect to cover more distance than this, as obviously there will doubtless be scenic detours!
There are so many charities that have supported Lydia and her family that it was hard to choose just one! Young Lives vs Cancer provide support to young people with cancer and their families, helping them navigate the emotional and practical impact of cancer.
