THE CHALLENGE

Between 17 September and 16 October 2025, all 12 members of Park Place Retail will endeavour to cover 2,300 km by logging all their activities including walking, running, cycling, swimming, etc. Our month of fundraising will culminate in TEAM PPR completing the 22 km London 16 Bridges Walk on 16 October. This personal challenge is not just about physical endurance; it is about making a significant impact in the lives of those who need it most.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS

We are raising money for Sparkes Homes, a charity based in Sri Lanka that supports girls who are poverty-stricken, abused or at risk. The charity was set up by George Stratton’s mum, Claire Stratton (nee Sparkes). Claire and her siblings were born and raised in Sri Lanka, and following the tsunami in 2004, the decision was taken to start this charity. These young girls face challenges, and your support can help provide them with the resources they need to build a brighter future.

Sparkes Homes provide a homely environment, a good diet, clothing, counselling and pastoral care for the girls. The girls attend local schools and the charity offers extra tuition in the core subjects. Sparkes Homes continue to support the girls through university, further education and vocational courses.

Since opening their first home in 2007, Sparkes Homes have helped over 500 girls to start new lives with vastly improved prospects.
