Story
Hi, we’re Team Projuvenate! From 17th - 20th September 2026, Síle and Libby are racing across Europe - Amsterdam to Prague in just four days - to raise vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer. Here’s why this cause means so much to us.
At 33, Síle was fit, healthy, working as a doctor, and was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. What followed was chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. Thankfully, her treatment was successful and today Síle is cancer-free.
But cancer leaves its mark in ways you don’t always expect. In 2025, Síle broke her hip badly while skiing - a serious injury partly linked to the impact her cancer treatment had had on her bone density. She needed surgery, spent months in a wheelchair and then faced a long period of rehabilitation.
At her lowest point, Síle wondered if she would ever walk normally again. She felt physically and mentally broken. Her close friend Dr Libby Artingstall, Projuvenate’s founder and Medical Director, and Libby’s brother Rob Artingstall, Projuvenate’s Head of Physiotherapy, stepped in and supported her through an intensive period of recovery. Rob worked with Síle on her physical rehabilitation, including using the R-Force® treadmill to help rebuild her strength, while Libby supported her mental wellbeing, resilience and confidence through EXOMIND®. Slowly, they helped Síle rebuild both physically and mentally and, ultimately, get back on her feet.
Now, Síle is doing something that once would have felt impossible: racing across Europe to raise funds for Prevent Breast Cancer.
Síle and Libby have been the best of friends since medical school. They trained as doctors together, became psychiatrists, and have supported each other through many chapters of life. Taking on this slightly mad adventure together feels like a pretty special next one.
Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity dedicated entirely to predicting and preventing breast cancer, and is based here in Manchester at the Nightingale Centre, the UK’s only breast cancer prevention centre. Its work includes pioneering research, breast awareness and education, and initiatives supporting communities most at risk. It’s a cause that has become deeply personal, but one that also closely reflects the values Síle and Libby share, and the ethos behind Projuvenate itself, a belief in being proactive about health, promoting wellbeing and, wherever possible, preventing illness before it happens.
This race is about more than getting from Amsterdam to Prague....It’s about friendship. It’s about recovery and resilience. It’s about celebrating how far Síle has come, and helping fund a future where fewer women and their families have to hear the words “you have breast cancer.”
Every donation, big or small, means more than you know.
Thank you for supporting us ❤️
With love Sile and Libby
