Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Last year, our colleague Rebecca lost her best friend, her partner in crime, her rock, her husband - Dean. He had battled the big C for a number of years and defied many expectations, continuing to fight and stay with his family.
St Benedict's Hospice provided care and support for Dean, Rebecca and their children throughout - and have continued to do so. We have chosen to raise money for them, so they can keep doing this for others, when they really need it.
We (the commercial & marketing teams at Oxford Innovation Space) have decided to embark on a trip down memory lane so that Rebecca can show us the sights of her stomping ground in memory of Dean. We will be doing a half marathon distance, starting in Seaburn, where Dean and Rebecca had their first date, finishing at Noses Point in Seaham, which was their favourite walk during lockdown. We will pass other meaningful points along the way, including Roker, where Dean proposed, and the Tommy War Memorial, where Dean started all of his motorbike adventures.
We are very grateful for your donation - it will mean the world to Rebecca and the Hospice.
