Story
Following on from the success of the Doddie Cup 555 ride in 2023, former Scotland captain, and British Lion, Rob Wainwright has set his biggest fundraising challenge yet with All Roads Lead to Rome 2024.
This year team RR have come together for the 2024 challenge and consist of veteran Doddie Fundraiser Tom Leefe and new comer Richard Biddulph. Both are eager and excited to get on the road and raise some money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.
They will also be joined by many other fundraisers along the route from each of the Six Nations. The All Roads Lead to Rome challenge allows participants to be creative on how they will get to Rome.
Team RR's challenge will be for Tom and Richard to drive the 1600 miles in 4 days from Murrayfield Stadium in Edingburgh to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in time for the Scotland Vs Italy Six Nations Game. They will be doing this in a 1954 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn Auto and tackling the wintery conditions as they head through the Alps.
Team RR are representing the entire MND community affected by this, as yet, incurable disease. Since its inception in 2017, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has committed over £8 million into supporting MND research and maintains that MND is not incurable, it’s just underfunded.
Significant strides have been made in MND research in recent years, which is only possible because of the generosity of donors. We want to continue to support that progress and be part of the cure.
