Story
This year, "Team Siblings Strides for Seizures" are excited to involve our family in a meaningful way as we embark on a personal challenge to support the Epilepsy Society.
Many of you know the joy and warmth that my son Azhar brings to our lives. At just 19 years old, he is a loving and caring person who touches the hearts of everyone around him. Living with autism and being non-verbal presents its challenges, but his spirit shines brightly through it all.
Over the past year, he has faced significant hurdles, suffering from over 40 seizures. Each episode is a reminder of the daily struggles that those with epilepsy endure. This is why we are taking on the challenge of walking 1.5 million steps for epilepsy in July – to raise awareness and funds for those affected by this condition. We are fortunate to have the support from our family and friends, some families don't have this and rely on the Epilepsy Society for support.
Epilepsy is a condition that affects so many individuals and families, often in ways that are not immediately visible. Through this walk, we aim to raise awareness and funds to support those impacted by epilepsy. Every step we take is a step towards a brighter future for those living with this condition.
I was proud of my sisters Shabana, Samina and brother Shakeel who took part in the challenge with me last year to support this great cause and "Team Siblings Strides for Seizures" was created. I am proud to announce that we have recruited some new members to join the team to help with the challenge. My daughter Amina, my wife Tasneem, my sister in-law Mehtab and my brother in-law Andrew.
We aim to raise £4,000 to support vital research and resources provided by the Epilepsy Society. Your contribution can make a real difference in improving lives and providing hope for families like ours.
Join us in this journey; every step counts! Together, we can create a brighter future for those living with epilepsy.
Please ensure you select the 'Gift Aid' option so that the charity can benefit by 25% from your donation.
