The 2026 Royal Parks Half Marathon is here! We have an amazing team of lifesaving legs on board to give more people with blood cancer and blood disorders a second chance of life.

Story

I was meant to run this half marathon with my husband Tim cheering me on. To our great sadness he died on the 30th August following a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in November 2025. Tim underwent several rounds of intensive chemotherapy and received a Stem Cell Transplant at Kings College Hospital in March 2026, facilitated by the Anthony Nolan register. We really did hope that Tim would be one of the lucky patients to make it into remission, but we knew from the start he had a very difficult profile to treat. Without the transplant and treatment we would not have had the lovely sunny summer together, precious time and more memories.

Caring for Tim in his final weeks has meant training has gone out of the window and so I hope to make my way round the Great Parks the best I can in memory of my beloved Tim. I will be joined by my nephew Elliott who will be running in memory of his uncle. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/elliottbullock-6a6dac89ff09f4f4e86431cc?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=WA

On the 11th October, I will be running with immense gratitude to the transplant team at Kings College and the doctors and nurses at The Courtyard, Royal Sussex County Hospital who gave Tim the very best possible chance. And I will be running for the donor himself, who we shall never meet but whose selfless act meant we had extra time with Tim. Thank you.

For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant could be their last chance of survival. Today, five people will start their search for a stranger to save their life. Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. It costs £40 to add each new potential donor to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register. Every new person on the register means another chance for someone to find their lifesaving match.

If you can, please help us by donating so that more people with blood cancer can be given the the chance of a future. You can also help by sharing this fundraiser with friends and family, or by signing up to the stem cell register: https://www.anthonynolan.org/help-save-a-life/join-stem-cell-register

Or by helping with lifesaving transfusions by giving blood if you are able: https://www.blood.co.uk/

With heartfelt thanks for your support.
