Help Us Launch The 7AM Club: Please Consider Donating Today

Thousands of underserved young people in Britain face academic struggles, a lack of relatable mentorship, and limited information about the pathways ahead - be it university, apprenticeships, or other career opportunities.
At Team UPside, we’ve been working since 2019 to bridge these gaps. Through our educational projects, we’ve already impacted tens of thousands of young lives.
A space where underserved students receive personalised guidance from our relatable, competent, and compassionate volunteers. Each morning, students leave equipped with educational tools, practical advice, and a healthy breakfast.
In September 2024, we launched our pilot 7AM club programme at Hammersmith Academy for one-week.
In a survey of 35 students who attended – 97% said that they would recommend The 7AM club to a friend, 100% scored The 7AM club 8/10 or above in helpfulness, with 80% scoring it 10/10.
One student at Hammersmith Academy left a testimony saying:
“The support and guidance was beyond amazing, we went into real depth and found the exact things which would work for me, and we got to a point where I felt very motivated just by hearing the short steps I needed to take for success.”

The 7AM Club has ambitious goals:
In the short term, we aim to run The 7AM club across multiple schools in London. In the medium term, we plan to scale the programme across London and beyond. And in the long term, we envision a future where young people across the country are thriving and achieving their full potential in the education system.
We’re raising £30,000 to fund our first full-time team member, Ethel Ng, for one year.
Both in and out of Team UPside, Ethel has an incredible track record of supporting young people to achieve their full potential within the education system. Ethel is not just a dedicated volunteer with over 5 years’ worth of experience at Team UPside - she’s an embodiment of community service. With a First-Class degree in Education from Bristol and a background in Economics and Management from Oxford, she’s uniquely qualified to lead this initiative.
In her role, Ethel will lay the foundation for the 7AM Club’s success:
She will be responsible for developing strong systems for impact measurement, volunteer management, and fundraising. She will lead our efforts of scaling the programme across London to reach more students in need.
