Team Walk / Run for M.E. 2026

Claire Carter is raising money for ME Research UK

Team: Team Walk for ME 2026

Team Walk / Run for ME · 24 May 2026

ME Research UK exists solely to fund high quality biomedical studies into the causes and treatment of ME/CFS. This illness affects approximately 250,000 people in the UK but is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised. We fund highly regarded, peer-reviewed research worldwide.

Story

Welcome to our page!

We are a team of 7 amazing women, and David! all walking and running during May, M.E. Awareness month, in an effort to raise vital funds for research into this long term disabling condition.

So far we have Sarah, whose daughter Jess has had M.E. for 100 months now, so is running 100k from today until May 24th! 🌟

Claire, whose young person Leo has had M.E. for 10 years, and will be doing a 10k Cornwall coastal walk on May 24th, joined by Beccy and David. 🙌

Bridget, who will do a coastal walk in Poole on May 24th, Rachel who will do a 10k coastal walk near Margate on May 24th, Jo who will also do a 10k walk on May 24th, and Niki, who will do a run in Tunbridge Wells, on May 31st! 🙌🙌🙌

The idea behind Walk for ME is that the friends and family of an ME sufferer do a sponsored walk (or run / swim / cycle) on their behalf.

Thank you so much to everyone getting involved, your support truly means the world, and for all donations big or small - all so very gratefully received. 💙 Thank you so much 💙

"....doctors do not treat us and science does not study us. How could a disease this common and this devastating have been forgotten by medicine?" Jennifer Brea

Only biomedical research can find the causes of ME/CFS, improve diagnosis and treatment, and, ultimately, arrive at a cure. That’s why research is our focus.

We've awarded 64 full grants and 5 PhD-level awards since 2000 and invested over £3.5million. But research is expensive and becoming more so every day. That’s the challenge we face, and that’s why we need your help.
