Story
In September, we (team 180) Clint, Steve and Wes are taking on something completely ridiculous… and completely brilliant.
From 8th September, we’re driving a car worth no more than £600—customised, decorated, and probably held together with hope—over 2,300 miles from Dover to Benidorm and back as part of the legendary Rat Run Banger Rally in aid of our chosen charity APOPO.
We’ll be joining around 200 other teams, all in equally questionable vehicles, tackling daily checkpoints with Top‑Gear‑style challenges on a route that takes us through:
Dover > Rouen > Bordeaux > Zaragoza > Benidorm
It’s going to be loud, messy, hilarious, and probably involve at least one breakdown on the side of a French motorway.
But we’re not just doing it for the adventure.
We’re doing it for APOPO.
Why APOPO?
APOPO trains HeroRATs to detect landmines and tuberculosis, saving lives in places where danger is hidden underground or illness goes undiagnosed. These rats are fast, accurate, and incredibly effective—helping communities rebuild safely and giving people a second chance at life.
Your donation directly supports this life‑changing work.
Every pound you donate helps APOPO clear more landmines, diagnose more TB cases, and protect more families.
We’re covering the cost of the car, fuel, repairs, and the inevitable “why is it making that noise?” moments. Your support goes straight to APOPO’s mission.
If you can spare anything—£5, £10, £20—it genuinely makes a difference.
Thank You!
Thanks for supporting us, supporting APOPO, and supporting three idiots attempting to cross Europe in a car that probably shouldn’t leave Andover.
Let’s raise some money.
Let’s do something good.
Let’s hope the car makes it.
