On June 13th, George Shipton, Douglas Woolfenden, Miles Kellock and Tristan David will be running from Cheam School to Harrow School in memory of our great friend Archie Lloyd who tragically passed away ten years ago this summer. The date holds special significance for us all as it would have been Archie’s 28th birthday.

Archie was and still remains incredibly important to all of our lives. We shared amazing memories together which we all cherish deeply, whether it was on the football pitch, in the cricket nets or messing around at the back of the classroom. He always made us laugh and brought people together, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. A decade on, we all still think about him constantly and wanted to do something that would honour his memory in a way that felt truly personal.

Each of us attended one or both of Archie’s schools and the route from Cheam to Harrow represents more than a physical challenge - it represents the joint journey of grief, growth, and reflection that we’ve all experienced over the past ten years. It won’t be easy, with the run stretching across over 55 miles (more than 90 kilometres) which will take us from Newbury to North West London in one go.

We are raising money for the Archie Lloyd Charitable Foundation or “Team Archie”, which was set up in Archie’s name to support young people in achieving their potential, particularly in sports and education. This run is our tribute to Archie. It’s our way of remembering him, celebrating his life, and doing something good in his name. Any donation, whether it is big or small, will mean the world to us and will go directly to the foundation carrying on Archie’s legacy.
