Story
Sonia's Story:
On 26 October 2026, I’ll be celebrating my 10-year remission milestone from cancer ❤️
To mark it, I wanted to do something fun, positive and festive with my family, so we’re taking part in the Santa Fun Run to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice, a charity incredibly close to my heart.
I’ve worked at the Hospice for 14 years. After my own cancer diagnosis, returning to an environment where cancer and serious illness are part of everyday conversations could have been difficult. But the Hospice is a place full of light, life, positivity and support, and I never wanted to stop being part of it. ✨
Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of meeting patients and families, hearing their stories and seeing first-hand the difference the Hospice makes. Some of the people I’ve interviewed and filmed have since died, but their stories and the precious moments the Hospice helped them create, have stayed with me.
So, 10 years on, this feels like a lovely way to celebrate... with family, dressed as Santas, raising money for a place that means so much to me.🎅🎄❤️
If you can spare anything, big or small, I’d be so grateful. Every donation helps Princess Alice Hospice continue providing vital care and support to patients and their families.
Thank you so much for supporting us!
Love, Team BCD – the Bhandals, Chohans & Dhahans 🎅🎄

About Princess Alice Hospice:
Princess Alice Hospice provides a comprehensive range of services that respond to the individual needs of patients and their families, so that they can live life to the full, create memories, share special moments and when the time comes, support them through, before and after the death of a loved one.
It costs us £12.3 million each year to provide free, high quality specialist end of life care to thousands of people with life threatening illnesses. We rely on wonderful supporters to raise 80% of the Hospice's funding.
