Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

This summer marks the 20th anniversary of the Team Buzz Tour de France in 2006, when 3 intrepid young men took the epic 1000 mile journey en velo from Cherbourg on the North Coast of France, down to Montpelier on the South.

The ride was in support of Cardiac Risk in the Young, a UK charity that does vital work raising awareness of the importance of heart scans on young people in order to detect possible heart defects.

After I lost a close relative to an undetected heart condition, I was determined to find a way to raise money and awareness for CRY's cause and team buzz was born.

And this summer, 20 years later, Team Buzz rides again!

The team shall be hopping in the saddle once again to ride for heart charities.

From August 6th to 14th we will be riding the 550 miles from Buffalo to NYC along the Empire State Trail, averaging around 78.5 miles per day.

All US donations shall be in support of the American Heart Association while UK donations with go towards Cardiac Risk in the Young.

We'll be sharing photos and videos of our trip via social as we go. Please consider donating and supporting us on our epic ride!

More about Cardiac Risk in the Young:

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
