Story
Our members are delighted to be partnering with Lancashire Mind dedicating one of the longest day of the year to an incredible feat of endurance walking from 4.30am til 9.30pm!
Some of our members have created a team to challenge themselves to complete this longest day between them.
For individuals with Down’s Syndrome who have low muscle tone and often other physical difficulties, even an hour walking around a track will be a challenge. Some will need an aid such as a wheelchair or pram and we are encouraging everyone to get involved and do what they can.
We are using this challenge to raise much needed funds for our charity, supporting members with Down's Syndrome across East Lancs and beyond, through family and member social groups and peer support in particular.
Mental health is an important topic to all our members, parents, carers, siblings and other family members alike, and it is great to be able to raise awareness and support, alongside 11 other local charities.
