This year, on top of our usual events, we have 3 big challenges and would be incredibly grateful for your support.

19 April: MANCHESTER MARATHON

Caroline is kicking off the year with the full 26.2 miles after a very wet, dark and cold winter of training runs squeezed in around full time work and taxiing to swimming lessons, football clubs and beavers!

26 April: MARTIN HOUSE DRAGONBOAT TOURNAMENT

Rachel, Chris, Kelly, Libbi, Alex, Emily, Amy, Claire, Neil, Emanuella and Caroline are taking up the oars for another dash across Roundhay Lake.

11 May: LEEDS MARATHON

Michael will be supporting Paul with his incredible Triple Marathon effort!

Evelyn's Story:

Evelyn lost oxygen around the time of her birth and suffered a large brain injury. This had a huge impact and she was left with severely complex medical needs and disabilities. We were introduced to Martin House who quickly became our lifeline as we learnt to navigate seizures, tube feeding, and adminsitering 18 different medications per day.

We had regular visits at home from the full community team, including specialist consultant doctors, and had 24/7 access to doctors who ensured all decisions regarding Evelyn’s care were family led. We used the hospice for both respite stays when we needed support, and symptom control stays when Evelyn was particularly unwell.

Evelyn died when she was 7 months old after battles with intractable seizures. We remain heartbroken but incredibly proud of her and the huge impact her life has had. We have raised over £120,000 so far and would love to keep building Evelyn’s legacy.

A donation of any value can help make a massive impact and we are incredibly grateful for all the support. We are still actively involved with the hospice, attending sibling groups and volunteering as parent ambassadors for bereavement services.
