Daily Stepping Challenge - Through out the month of February · 1 February 2025

St Mary’s Hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life-shortening conditions throughout South Cumbria. Only 18% of our funding comes from the NHS, the rest comes from our supporters. All our services are provided free to patients and their families.

Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page! We are Team Grasmere, a passionate group of friends dedicated to supporting St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston. This February, we are excited to embark on our fifth Daily Stepping Challenge, where we commit to walking a minimum of 9,000 steps each day throughout the month.

Anyone can join us in this inspiring journey—no need to live in Grasmere! We invite you to make a donation through this page. Last year the average donation was £30 but please just donate what you feel is right. Don’t forget to check the Gift Aid box if you are a taxpayer. Once you've donated, lace up your walking shoes and step outside, or if the weather isn't cooperating, simply count your steps around your home and garden. You’ll be amazed at how quickly those steps add up!

Why 9,000 steps? Because it costs over £9,000 each day to run the hospice. By participating in this challenge, we not only improve our fitness but also raise vital funds for a cause that means so much to our community.

We hope you'll join us in this fun and rewarding experience! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and completely secure. Your details will remain safe with them—they will never sell your information or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your contribution goes directly to the charity, making it the most efficient way to support St Mary's Hospice while saving time and cutting costs for them.

Together, let’s make a difference!
