I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.

A little background to our fundraising for our chosen charity. Back in 2024 A young lad aged 22 connected to our family received the devastating diagnosis none of us expected. From a fit and healthy young man and keen runner training for a half marathon he developed a sore knee. Thinking it was a running injury he rested it but over time the pain increased and swelling appeared. After six months of trying physio, rest and then an ultrasound with no explanation we pushed for further investigation. An urgent MRI, CT Scan and X Ray followed by an immediate hospital stay. His case was investigated in Oxford and a biopsy followed and then the news it was OsteoSarcoma. Chemotherapy and major surgery was the plan. A year of treatment and surgery to remove the tumour and rebuild his leg and rehabilitation has followed. With shear determination and positive thinking with walking Snowdon being his goal, he is now 2 years post treatment and surgery and life is getting back on track albeit a different way of life. We are passionate about raising awareness and funds to support this rare cancer that mainly affects children and young adults.
