Story
We (Abby, Clare, Elodie, Emma, Katie, Mary-Ann and Mel) are gearing up to really challenge ourselves as a team to swim for 24 hours straight on 30/31 August in open water. It’s going to be a test of endurance, teamwork, and sheer determination (and hopefully a lot of fun along the way).
We are a group with mixed swimming levels and experience and we are all loving our open water swims - the challenges, the camaraderie and of course the kit (and the early morning warm muffins)!
The real challenge with this swim will come in those cold, 2/3/4 AM swims when all we want is sleep, but that’s when the camaraderie kicks in. It’s the feeling of relief after each hour, knowing we’ve just ticked off another milestone. It’s gathering around the fire pit, clutching a hot chocolate, dancing to stay warm, and cheering as the sun rises over the lake.
We’re taking on this challenge to raise money for Level Water, an incredible charity that provides 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. With your support, these kids might one day join us in this very event, swimming alongside their friends and family.
Every £15 funds a life-changing lesson. Please donate what you can and help us make a difference!
Thank you for your kindness and support
