Story
So I read about Glenn Campbell (off of the news) fundraising and general awareness raising on brain tumours and was inspired!
I can’t walk hills but 10th August was Michael’s birthday and I thought it was a sign to get out of my comfort zone and do something that scary … queue me rounding up a team of hardy souls who will make sure we raise the Brain Power flag at the summit!
Team Turbo consists of Mairi, Aidan, Effie, Orjana, Donna, Stig, Linda, Wendy, Hazel, Anne, Kenny, Farles, Lefty, Aileen, Christina and Seámus at the moment but we plan to enlist some more!
I won’t bore you with the sob story, but I will say this is a very worthwhile cause and Glenn is raising funds for a Scottish centre so that others can have a hope of a cure.
If you know nothing about brain tumours then below is some info.
————————————————————————
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
