Three of us from The Wellspring project team – Alison, Alex and Paul – are taking part in the Manchester 10k run this year to celebrate The Wellspring turning 35.

Even better, we’ve got James and Andy running alongside us. Both have accessed support at The Wellspring, so it’s a bit of a role reversal on the day, they’ll be the ones supporting us!

We’ve all worked here for a long time and genuinely love what we do. Truthfully, we probably spend more time with the people we support than we do with our own families.

So this felt like a good excuse to bring everyone together – our kids, Ollie, Harry, Abbey and Grace, are joining us on the run too.

The Wellspring means a lot to all of us. It’s not just a workplace – it’s a huge part of our lives.

Now, full honesty… none of us are what you’d call athletes. And in true Alison, Alex and Paul style, training has been… minimal at best.

But we see every single day the difference The Wellspring makes to people’s lives, and that’s exactly why we’re doing this.

The Wellspring supports the people of Stockport that are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

We provide the resources, experience, and care that they need to become a real part of the community that we all share.

Our professional staff and dedicated volunteers are there to work through the complex and individual challenges of every service user and help them make positive changes.

Making a real difference to peoples lives means understanding what they are going through. And with the help of our supporters, we are always there.
