Team Why are Ben Thomas, Matt Green, James Renfrew and Steve Piper and we are riding over 575 miles for Challenge Adventure Charities because we want to raise money for three amazing charities; brainstrust, British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

Every year we take part in Challenge Adventure Charities ride to raise money by cycling through Europe and each year 25% of our total goes to each of Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

The remaining 50% goes to a charity of our choice and this year we have chosen to support brainstrust who are a unique charity supporting brain tumour patients and caregivers with practical and emotional support. This includes coaching, support groups and provision of advice on a wide range of brain tumour related issues https://brainstrust.org.uk/.

Steve's wife Ellie was diagnosed with a rare form of brain tumour (called an Acoustic Neuroma) two years ago and she has been incredibly grateful for the support and advice given by the brainstrust community to support her in her treatment and recovery.

Our 2026 Challenge is for teams of 4 to ride 575 miles through France, Belgium and Luxembourg before following the Rhine down to Stuttgart where we celebrating at their version of Oktoberfest (Cannstatter Volksfest)!

Challenge Adventure Charities has raised over £4.8m since 1996 and Team Why has been proud to be contributing for the past 10 years. Your contributions really are important to us and provide us great motivation whilst we are away.
