Story
I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to run the Tokyo Marathon in 2026 on behalf of Claire House – a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.
Over the past 11 months, Claire House has supported me and my family through the most difficult time of our lives. If you haven’t heard, my brother Jago sadly passed away in April 2025. Throughout his journey, Claire House was there for us – offering care, compassion, and ensuring Jago was as comfortable as possible in his final moments. Their support has meant the world to us.
So when this marathon opportunity came up, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I’ve never run a marathon before – not even a 5K – but I knew I had to do this. I want to give back to the people who gave us so much, so they can continue helping other young families facing similar heartbreak.
I’m also doing this in memory of Jago. He was the most selfless person I knew and always up for a challenge if it meant supporting a good cause. In 2020, he ran over 298 miles in just 14 days for YoungMinds. And earlier this year, despite everything, he completed an ultramarathon with the help of his local rugby club, friends, and family.
This one’s for you, Jago – and for Claire House, so they can keep making a difference when it matters most.
