Story
It's a terribly sad start to the year for the Omega family, as we pay tribute to Edward 'Ted' Pearce, Father to our CEO, Steve, and all-around wonderful man. Ted was an original investor and director in the early days of Omega, he loved seeing the team grow, visiting Omega HQ often, always with a smile on his face. We know he was so proud of everything Steve and Team Omega achieved, and his contribution will remain so important to us. Ted even opened the new lab and offices at Cygnus House in 2006, and this plaque will remain in his honour. Rest in Peace, Ted, we will miss you 🤍
In his honour, the team have asked to set up a just-giving page, so as Ted would have loved, we are raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund in memory of a wonderful father and grandfather. The Army Benevolent Fund provides vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need and a cause Ted would be proud to support.
Ted started his career in the Army as a Sergeant, later becoming Staff Sergeant also running the Officers' Mess.
Ted served in Catterick in the 1950s and in various bases in Germany during the 1960s, including time in Libya and Malta and also Tidworth and Lulworth in the UK. Serving in the tanks of C Squadron, 15th/19th Kings Royal Hussars, he was also part of the regimental band.
Ted later ran the Territorial Army Centre in Bishop Auckland in 1968/9, and when he returned from Germany in 1971, he ran the Army Recruiting Office in Darlington.
For Soldiers. For Life.
