I’m stepping well outside my comfort zone and taking on something that genuinely worries me by completing a skydive on September 13th to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham — I am not a fan of heights!!

I’m still not entirely sure why nobody suggested something safer, like raffle tickets or pottery, but apparently jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft was the challenge I ended up accepting! 😂

Thanks to my long-haired general, I hear every day about the incredible work the hospice does and the difference it makes to local families. I’m sure many of you will know someone who has benefited from the care and support Nightingale House provides.

The hospice offers specialist palliative and end-of-life care, rehabilitation, wellbeing services, family support, counselling and bereavement care, helping people in our community through some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Despite the vital role it plays, Nightingale House receives only around 20% of its funding from the NHS and Welsh Government, meaning it has to raise over £4.4 million every year through fundraising to continue providing these essential services.

That’s why I’m taking on this challenge — to help make sure Nightingale House can continue to be there for local people and their families, both now and in the future.
