Story
Meet Lenny.
Lenny was found and handed in to a local vets after being missing for some time; he clearly had some injuries that we won’t know how he got. He was microchipped but as his owners could not afford treatment, they made the difficult decision to contact us for help and to relinquish.
We took Lenny straight to the vets to assess and had X Rays which showed a broken leg. It showed that the fracture had already healed. Due to this, Lenny was walking with a severe gait and he couldn’t run. The vets gave us a couple of options; leave it and re-assess in the future, re-break the leg and reset it or amputate. The first two options would lead to arthritis so the decision was made to amputate as the best course of action.
Lenny adapted quickly after his surgery and has already secured a new home to go to. He’s a very sweet, affectionate boy with lots of love to give. Everyone has fallen in love with him.
Lenny’s surgery and other veterinary and care costs we estimate to be £900. Any donation, big or small, will directly help cover the costs of his treatment so that we can continue to help other cats just like Lenny.
Please donate if you can, and if you’re not able to, please share Lenny’s story.
From all of us, and from Lenny, thank you.
We appreciate times are tight, the minimum donation set by JustGiving is £2, anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated; whether its £2 or £5, every penny and pound helps, please donate if you can. This is how your donation could make a difference:
£2 could feed a cat in our care for 10 days
£5 could cover worming treatment, protecting a cat from parasites that can lead to discomfort and serious health issues.
£10 could pay for flea treatment, protecting a cat from itching, irritation, and potential infections, while also ensuring they’re comfortable and ready for adoption.
If we are fortunate enough to exceed our target, any additional funds will go towards the care of other cats who desperately need our help.
Cats Protection help more cats than any other organisation and we want to help millions more. We are a dedicated community of passionate employees, volunteers, supporters and partners, working together to make life better for millions of cats and the people who care for them.
