On the 14th August 2025, Templeton LPA are accompanying the members, volunteers and staff of Sight Life for a 10 mile walk along the Taff Trail. We previously completed this in 2023, and are excited to complete it again. We would love it if you could support Sight Life by donating to us on this page. Thank you!
Sight Life provides the essential help, advice and support for anyone with sight loss across South Wales in Cardiff, Swansea and Rhondda Cynon Taf. They have a base in the centre of Cardiff at our activity and resource centre and carry out our work via home-visits, activity and peer support groups in the community and through 1:1 sessions to blind and partially sighted people to improve health and wellbeing and reduce isolation. They provide advice and support to help people exercise, increase confidence and self-esteem, and reduce incidents of falls and accidents. They also help people with sight loss to be digitally included and connected by providing tech support and assessments.
43% of people with sight loss have significant depressive symptoms.
For the last 160 years, Sight Life's work has been making a meaningful impact in the lives of local blind and partially sighted people when they need us the most.
In our recent survey, 90% of our Service Users told us that they felt less isolated and lonely, 80% felt more independent and 74% were more active and healthier as a result of our work.
We want to keep supporting and evolving the services we offer for the next 160 years but we need your support!
Raising just £160 for Sight Life will allow us to visit a Service User at home to provide essential advice to ensure they can continue to live independently; provide a bespoke session on how to successfully manage living with sight loss and reduce the isolation it imposes; and also run a social group that can become a life-line to our Service Users and gives them a reason to leave home.
