Story
At Templetown S&C, we are taking on HYROX – for the first time ever – to raise £1,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This November, four of us from the gym are stepping way outside our comfort zones. We’ve signed up for two mixed doubles entries:
Paul & Alma
James & Claire
Together, we’re aiming to raise £1,600 (£400 each) for Macmillan.
HYROX is no small challenge. It’s 8 rounds of 1km runs broken up with tough functional workouts – sled pushes, burpees, rowing, lunges – the lot. None of us have done anything like this before and training for it has already tested our grit, teamwork, and lungs in equal measure.
But here’s why we’re doing it:
Macmillan’s work – from their support line to financial advice and frontline care – is a lifeline for people in the hardest fight of their lives. Every £400 raised could run the Macmillan Support Line for an hour, giving people the help they desperately need.
So while HYROX will push us physically and mentally, it’s nothing compared to what people face every day with cancer. That’s what’s driving us to the finish line.
If you can, please donate and help us smash our £1,600 target. Every bit of support means the world.
Thank you for being part of this with us.
