Story

Let’s celebrate BTS’s tenth anniversary by supporting FarmAbility!

This June, One In an ARMY is organizing a fundraiser to support FarmAbility, who are also celebrating their tenth anniversary! This program combines the farming environment with Occupational Therapy to provide those with learning disabilities a space to build their confidence, independence, and skills. It’s the ideal space for people who struggle with mainstream learning to gain new experiences and feel a sense of community.

FarmAbility co-farmers are actively involved throughout the year with vegetable growing, orchard management, horse care, animal husbandry, woodwork, an organic egg enterprise, and various seasonal farm tasks. With the support of a Program Leader and an occupational therapist, co-farmers can achieve their short and long-term goals they’ve created during their time at FarmAbility.

With your support, ARMY could help FarmAbility expand its reach to help other people seeking an alternative space. Your donation would allow more day-session opportunities throughout farm sites in Oxfordshire, increase the number of staff to ensure the staffing and support ratios remain strong, and bring more variety in craft, cookery, and event-based activities to the program.
