Story
I'm training to run the London Marathon this April, fundraising for the Shaw Trust, and would appreciate your help as I do so!
The Shaw Trust is a leading employment charity in the UK with a vision to build a future where rewarding work is accessible for all.
In 2020, I graduated from a South African university into a state of career clueless. The thought of writing a CV filled me with anxiety; I felt that I had no work experience worthy of a resume. The prospect of entering the job market felt crushing, particularly as I did not know where to start. My saving grace were coaches and mentors in my life who facilitated growth in my self-esteem, equipping me with the knowledge to pursue a meaningful job and career.
The Shaw Trust's work across the UK bridges the gap into meaningful employment for young people, people who are disabled or people who have physical/mental health conditions. The charity achieves this through initatives such as 1:1 coaching, access to CV and interview support and interventions premised on enhancing the wellbeing of the individuals and communities that they support.
Your donation would play a key role in enabling the Shaw Trust to continue supporting hundreds of thousands of people in the UK to achieve their potential.
