Ballgowns to Backpacks: Wild Camping for Breast Cancer Now

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. It touches too many lives—including those of our friends, our families, and our communities. So when my fabulous friend Suellen (who is always up for an adventure and has joined me in some truly bonkers activities in the past!) asked me to be part of her fundraising team, how could I possibly say no?

This time, we’re trading our high heels for hiking boots and heading out for a night of wild camping in East Sussex—yes, that means no tent, no campsite, just nature (and hopefully a flask of tea or two). For someone who has never camped before, this is going to be wild in every sense of the word! - although I have invested in a pink sleeping bag so I’m not totally unprepared!!

As ballroom buddies, we’re swapping:

• Ballrooms for backpacks

• Sequins for sleeping bags

• Tangos for tents

…and hoping to become happy cha-cha-champers by the end of it all!

My fundraising target is £250, but if I can go beyond that, it would mean the world. Knowing that I’m helping raise awareness and fund vital research to end this disease would fill me with pride—and hopefully inspire a few smiles along the way.
