Le dimanche 12 avril prochain, je cours à Londres mon premier semi-marathon aux côtés de mon père : le London Landmarks Half Marathon. Après un an et demi que je me suis mise à la course à pied, je me suis lancé ce défi. Et il sera particulièrement important pour moi, car d’une part je le cours en Angleterre et cela représente une partie de mon héritage familial, et surtout car je le cours en hommage à mon cousin Charlie, et pour soulever des fonds pour l’association caritative Teenage Cancer Trust.

Mon cousin Charlie Drake nous a quittés le 11 septembre 2025, après près d’un an de combat intense et courageux contre une leucémie myéloïde aiguë. Il avait tout juste 19 ans. Charlie reste présent à jamais dans le cœur de ses parents Jo et Nick, de sa sœur Amélia et du reste de sa famille et de ses amis.

Et le 12 avril, j’ai choisi de courir pour l’association Teenage Cancer Trust. Cette association a permis à Charlie pendant tout son combat, et à tous ces jeunes patients touchés par divers cancers, de recevoir des soins et des aides humaines et matérielles essentielles. Aujourd’hui, je vous invite à m’aider à soulever des fonds pour cette belle association, et me permettre de courir ce semi-marathon en mémoire de mon cousin, qui je ne le doute pas me suivra tout le long du parcours.

On Sunday 12th of April, I will be running my first half marathon in London alongside my father : the London Landmark Half Marathon. After a year and a half of taking up running, I decided to set myself this challenge. It is particularly meaningful to me, firstly because I will be running in England, which represents a part of my family heritage, and above all because I will be running in tribute to my cousin Charlie, while raising funds for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

My cousin Charlie Drake passed away on 11th of September 2025 after almost a year-long intense and courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He was just 19 years old. Charlie will remain forever in the hearts of his parents, Jo, Nick, his sister Amelia, and all his family and friends.

On the 12th of April, I have chosen to run for Teenage Cancer Trust. This incredible charity doesn’t just treat the illness of a young person affected by cancer, they support their families too. Their ongoing programmes and specialist units make an unbearable situation bearable. Their kindness, knowledge and care they showed towards Charlie and our whole family carried us through some of our darkest days.
