Having successfully completed Hospitality Rides Taiwan in 2025, I can honestly say it was one of the toughest and most rewarding challenges I've ever taken part in. So much so that I'm doing it again - this time in Chile!

In Spring 2027, I'll be getting back in the saddle and heading to Chile with Hospitality Rides, joining an incredible group of people to take on another massively challenging cycle.

I suspect it's going to be even tougher than last year, given the altitude, let alone the distance and the hills! The early starts, the long days, the aching legs, the weather, the mental battles, and the moments where you seriously question why you signed up in the first place. But I also remember the camaraderie, the sense of achievement, and most importantly, the difference the fundraising makes for two remarkable hospitality charities: Only A Pavement Away and the Licensed Trade Charity.

These charities provide vital support to people across the hospitality industry, helping those facing hardship, crisis, or barriers to employment rebuild their lives. Their work is genuinely life-changing, and the causes are incredibly close to my heart and to all of us at Fleet Street.

The training starts now and I'm really committed to the time required in order to ensure that I'm prepared for what promises to be bigger climbs, tougher terrain, and an even greater test of endurance, but I'm determined to give it my all.
