4 miles. 4pm. Together, wherever you are. This Baby Loss Awareness Week, join people across the UK as we Walk for Every Loss. Our 4-mile walk will remember, reflect, raise awareness, and support everyone affected by pregnancy loss.

Story

At 4pm on Sunday 11 October, I’ll be joining people across the UK in walking 4 miles, a shared moment to remember, reflect and stand alongside everyone affected by pregnancy loss.

Here's our story;

Miscarriage. A word that sounds so small for something that can completely change you.

Since 2019, my partner and I have gained 5 angels of our own. Three single pregnancies, and most recently, fraternal twins. Five babies that we wanted, loved and imagined a life with.

We’ve been through 2 IVF egg collections and 4 failed embryo transfers. I've had 3 surgeries to remove pregnancies that my body couldn’t let go of, including an ectopic pregnancy, which meant losing my right fallopian tube. During that surgery, they found endometriosis, which then meant another surgery to remove that too. The endometriosis ran silent and for years I had pain and discomfort that went completely undiagnosed.

IVF involved so many procedures, needles and appointments. The emotional rollercoaster this has endured has been the most difficult. Its a constant battle of pain, hormones, recovery, feeling better, loss, upset, pain, your body changing and hurting then finally feeling better again.

Sadly, we still have no answers from any medical professional we’ve seen so far as to what is causing so much loss. It’s a hard pill to swallow.

Amongst all this, you carry on with normal life while feeling anything but normal. Unless you can be brave enough to share your story, people simply cannot know what you’re carrying. So i'm sharing our story because I know how lonely it can feel. This walk is a chance to change that.

Something that has aways kept me going is sharing my story with others who can share stories of hope and talk about the babies we’ve loved and lost. Bravely talking about miscarriage helps you to realise that you are not alone.

Whether you’re walking for your own baby, for someone you love, or simply to show your support, I hope we can create a space where nobody feels they have to suffer in silence ❤️
