Tessa's fundraiser for Maggie's Centres

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Never in a million years did I think I’d be writing this, but on April 27th, I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of Maggie’s, a wonderful charity that provides care, support, and advice to those affected by cancer. Maggie’s centres across the UK offer a safe space where people can find a friendly face, talk about anything from symptoms to finances, and receive the guidance they need during such a difficult time.
My marathon journey began in 2023, when I made the decision to lace up my running shoes and complete what my mum had started. One of her oldest friends, Beverley, sadly passed away in 2020. During her illness, she and my mum often visited Maggie’s Cheltenham, sharing cups of tea, wig fittings, and much-needed conversations. In honour of Beverley, my mum signed up for the marathon to raise money for Maggie’s—but due to injury, she was unable to take part. I promised to run it for both of them. Unfortunately, last year, a back injury stopped me from crossing that finish line. But this year—fingers crossed—I’m ready to give it my all!
If you can donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be truly grateful. Your support will help me honour Beverley, finish my Mum’s story and it will make a real difference to those who rely on Maggie’s incredible services.
