Story
Grace, George and Will are taking on a big walk to raise money for Simon Says, the charity who have supported them for the last couple of years. It has been wonderful to have an in-person group where they can find companionship, support and grief-expertise as they navigate life without Rick.
We're planning to walk some of the Itchen Navigation (exact length to be determined by Will's little legs!) and then hopefully meet friends and family at the Water Meadows to mark 2 years since Rick died, very casually and with no expectations from anyone (especially us!).
'For 25 years, Simon Says has been here for children and young people across Hampshire who have had someone close to them die, helping them to understand their grief, talk openly, and begin to grow around their grief with hope.
Every pound you donate helps children who are facing some of the hardest days of their lives.
When a parent, sibling or close friend dies, a child’s whole world can change overnight. They may feel frightened, angry, or completely alone, and often don’t know how to talk about what’s happened. Parents and carers are grieving too, and sometimes can’t find the words. That’s where Simon Says steps in.
With your help, we can continue to offer safe spaces where children can share, heal and find hope together.
Behind every story of hope is someone like you.
Your fundraising ensures no child in Hampshire has to face the death of someone they love alone.
Help us continue to give grief a voice and hope a future.'
