25km for 25 years - TFT Anniversary Walk for Dysart School

Sarah Guignard is raising money for Friends of Dysart School
We are the registered charity who support fundraising efforts for Dysart School's community

Story

On Sunday 28th June, Sarah, Eric and team TFT will be going back to school with a sponsored walk for Dysart School!

We will be setting off from Putney and will follow the River Thames all the way back to Surbiton, pausing near Richmond Bridge and again by Teddington Lock.

And you are most welcome to join us for all or part of the journey! Posters will be up soon at The French Table and The French Tarte so you will be able to preview the whole route and planned meeting points. Our walk will end at Maple Road with a well-earned slice of cake and celebratory glass of fizz.

Why Dysart School?

Dysart School in Surbiton provides exceptional education and support for around 200 pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities, including many with Autism.

The school welcomes children aged 4 to 19 and offers a nurturing, caring environment where every individual is valued. Staff work closely with pupils to help them reach their full potential and prepare confidently for the future.

Parents and carers become part of a warm and supportive community from the moment their child joins Dysart. Every child is celebrated, and every child is given the opportunity to flourish.

The school’s Parent Teacher Association, Friends of Dysart School, plays a vital role in enriching school life. Through a variety of fundraising events and activities, they raise money to support projects that benefit the entire school community.

The local community is incredibly important to the pupils. Classes regularly visit shops, cafés, bowling, swimming, tennis, and horse riding session - a firm favourite. These experiences bring joy to the children, and the school is deeply grateful for the generous donations that help make them possible.

Fundraising will go towards a canopy for the outside area at the Apollo Tolworth satellite provision. It would provide shading from the sun in summer and some weather protection for outside activities in the winter/wetter months.
