Story
The four of us work together for Tomorrows Guides in the reviews team and together on 24th July we are completing a Sky Dive at 10,000ft in aid of The Care Workers Charity (TG's chosen charity). This is a absolutely insane thing for the four of us to do, as we'd much prefer to keep our feet firmly on the ground!
There are 1.5 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
For the UK's care workers, early starts, long hours and mentally draining work are part and parcel of the job. As a result, it's all too easy for illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, to push them beyond their financial limits.
The Care Workers; Charity has recently published its 2025 Impact Report, reflecting on a year of growing need and growing support - with support from events like this they were able to achieve:
• 864 grants awarded, totalling £366,316 distributed to care workers across the UK
• 83% of grant recipients said the support prevented them from falling into financial hardship
• 93% felt more supported by their workplace and the wider care sector as a result
• 37 care workers accessed counselling - 78% said they felt better able to provide quality care afterwards
• Over 2,000 care workers responded to our Wellbeing Survey, which we launched at the Houses of Parliament to put their voices directly in front of policymakers
Every one of those numbers represents a real person - a care worker who kept going because someone had their back.
If you are in a position to be able to donate any sponsorship for this amazing charity will be very much appreciated and we very much thank you for your support.
Thank you all for your support.
