Thames Path Challenge 2024 · 14 September 2024 ·

Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients, and those important to them, in West Kent and East Sussex. As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £8m each year to ensure our services can continue.

Story

On the 14th September, I will be taking on the Thames Path 100km Challenge in memory of my wife Ella, alongside our friends James, Matt, John and James. We will be raising vital funds for the Hospice in the Weald who offered her and her family such incredible support.

Ella was always one for adventure, so what better way to raise money for such a worthy cause in her memory. We may be lacking in youth, fitness and preparation, but we will be giving it our absolute best and hopefully dragging our middle-aged bodies to the finish line 60+ miles later, whatever it takes.....

We are under no illusions how tough a challenge this will be as we walk from 8am through the night attempting to complete 100km in under 36 hours, from Putney Bridge to Henley-On-Thames - however, in Ella we have the best possible inspiration to keep us going.

Any donation you feel able to make, however small, will be hugely appreciated and very gratefully received.

Many thanks

Stu - ably(ish) assisted by James, Matt, James and John (AKA 'The Old Mardenians')
