Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
This summer, I’ll be paddleboarding the entire length of the River Thames from source to sea to raise money for two causes that mean a lot to me.
I’ll be aiming to complete the challenge in under two weeks, wild camping in a hammock along the way. It will be a real physical and mental test, and I’ll be documenting the journey throughout.
I’m raising money for Mind, who supported me during my journey getting sober. I’ve had my own struggles with alcohol addiction and depression, and the help I received made a real difference in my life. This is my way of giving something back and hopefully helping others going through similar challenges.
I’m also raising awareness for Thames21, who are working to clean and protect our rivers. Rivers have played a huge part in my life — from growing up fishing and swimming in them as a kid, to more recently paddleboarding and wild swimming as part of my journey getting sober.
I genuinely believe it should be our birthright to be able to swim in our local rivers. Right now, that isn’t the case due to pollution, and something needs to change. Supporting Thames21 is my way of helping be part of that change.
If you can donate, share, or follow the journey, it would mean a lot.
I'll be documenting the journey on Adventure Boyz UK on Instagram and YouTube.
Thank you for your support,
Josh
