Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is JJ, I'm 15yrs old and I am a full time wheelchair user. I'm Deafblind and wear glasses and two Cochlear Implants and have intestinal failure, which means I cannot eat food, because my gastric tract doesn't work. I get my nutrition via IV, called Total parenteral nutrition (TPN). I have a permanent line in my arm, called a PICC line, and every night, I'm hooked up to an IV pump for 13hrs. TPN has made a huge difference to my life, I no longer spent lots of time in hospital and I get to live life to the full.
FEAR support children and adults who are on TPN (IV nutrition), by enabling them to realise that they can still live life to the full. I and Kim have been pen pals for the past 2.5yrs, which has enabled me to have a positive role model, who I can relate to, and ask questions about life on TPN from an adult's perspective.
I am aiming to do two races! I want to do 1km on his bike, doing the super sensory fun run, the other in my super cool green wheelchair, doing 5km!
One of the amazing things FEAR does, is arrange days so that kids and adults who are on TPN, can meet up and enjoy swimming and other exciting activities are coming up. They also have a number of 'Dry Suits', which they loan out to children and adults, which allows anyone with a central line, to swim, keeping their line dry, to avoid infection. Each dry suit cost at least £300, so I really want to raise enough money for FEAR to buy another dry suit.
Thank you for sponsoring me!!!
