Story

St Wilfrids provided end of life care for my much loved husband Steve in an extraordinarily caring environment.

The staff are amazing - and that includes not just the nurses and doctors but every person you meet there. Chefs, cleaners, reception, and so many volunteers.

All have time to talk - and listen.

Our first contact with them had been via a home visit from 2 members of their community team, and they were a breath of fresh air and positivity, providing us both with practical advice and intervention

When Steve first arrived there after his transfer from hospital he messaged a friend that he thought he'd already died and gone to heaven - it was that good! And when I met him there for the first time l I cried with relief as I hadn't seen him that comfortable and relaxed in months, not even at home.

Family, friends - and pets! - were able to visit freely and all were welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble.

The facilities, rooms, equipment and standard of care are all of the highest standard, but they are always looking to not just maintain this but improve it.

St Wilfrids is part funded by the NHS, but relies on donations to continue to provide and expand their care. Please help them continue providing the same care that our family experienced by giving what you can.

Thank you
