AURA-KL fundraiser for Accumulate

Jordan Williams is raising money for Accumulate

UWCB London / Romford / Dartford 22nd March 2025 · 22 March 2025 ·

Accumulate uses creativity to enrich and elevate the lives of young people that are homeless and living in hostels and temporary accommodation. The Accumulate participants often come from difficult, complicated and diverse backgrounds, including abusive relationships, mental health and substance abuse, foster care and prison backgrounds. Through Accumulate they become engaged in something personally rewarding and meaningful, develop their self-esteem and sense of self worth and start to have the ambition to think and plan for a more positive future, whatever that may be. We also fundraise for scholarships so that they can progress their creative education at university - this is life-changing. So far, 15 people have received Accumulate scholarships and five of these have gone on to study on an undergraduate degree. None of this would have been possible without Accumulate.

Story

“Before I experienced homelessness I had just graduated from Film School, my housing issues began because of the difficulties I had pursuing a sustainable career in the creative industries. As homelessness settled in I lost hope, and I began to resent my passion for creativity... Until a dear friend introduced me to Accumulate”

Accumulate uses creativity to help young homeless people overcome challenges, build skills and increase their wellbeing and confidence. The Accumulate workshops give a sense of purpose, a community and a place to go and the participants gain the drive and ability to create a more positive future and life for themselves.
