Story
In April 2026, my sisters Ella and Ashleigh and I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
We are running in memory of our Granddad, Geb — a true fighter in every sense. Over the years, he battled cancer twice, survived sepsis, and never let his health challenges define him. He loved staying active, attending his exercise classes and taking our late dog, Sherman, out for his morning walks without fail.
Sadly, we lost our Granddad at the beginning of 2025 following a house fire. Knowing him, we can only assume he believed he could take on the fire and stop it — that was just who he was.
As sisters, we have never been particularly sporty, and running a half marathon is well outside our comfort zones. But in memory of our Granddad’s strength and determination, we have set ourselves this challenge to honour him and to raise money for such an important cause.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated and will help make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support.
