The 100 KM Bleak Test

100 KM Ultramarathon
Where is the most bleak place on planet earth?
I can tell you, I’ve been there.
The ‘bereavement room’.
When my wife and I went for a scan for our baby around 14.5 weeks, we were ushered into a room after we had been told that our baby had unfortunately passed due to a chromosomal disorder. I remember the room. The dilapidated furniture, the outdated pictures on the walls. Bleak.
I want my donation goal to go to something tangible. I’ve spoken with the hospital and they are committing to redecorating and transforming those rooms.
Although I know a room can’t change the outcome, I know how it can make a difference to helping people feel warm and safe in a sad and scary environment.
I want to bring brightness into a bleak place.
So.. what’s the challenge.
I wanted to do something utterly bleak, something that is so far out of my comfort zone.
On May 4th 2025 I will be running 100 km between 2 cones set 160 metres apart on Southsea Seafront.
I will be running for over 15 hours and this will be the hardest thing I have ever undertaken.
I want to use it as a vehicle to raise money and transform a place so, utterly bleak.
