Story
The Boar is proud to be raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, an organisation dedicated to facilitating specialised cancer care for young people between the ages of 13–24.
University life should be a straightforward formula: miss the U1, go to circle, skip lectures. One thing it should never include is having to worry about cancer, yet over 2,000 teens and young adults in the UK are diagnosed with the disease every year.
The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. They fund specialist nurses, youth workers, and hospital units within the NHS, and provide support for anyone diagnosed with cancer aged 13-24, and their loved ones too.
This term, The Boar will be publishing a special charity edition of our paper, as part of a week of fundraising events. Check out our Instagram, @warwickboar, for a list of challenges our team will have to take on as we meet fundraising targets! Together, help us achieve the ambition of cancer care, made for young people.
