Story

Hello Friends!

This is a VERY important Conover family update! As you all know, we do love a good adventure and we are about to embark on the adventure of a life time. This one is of EPIC proportions because we will be working for a cause very near and dear to our hearts. The Conovers will be joining Bridge of Life (BOL) from February 6-16, 2026, for the "2026 Uganda Chronic Disease Prevention" mission. And before you ask, no, we won't be taking the off-grid camper. I hear they have solid tents and some electricity there. All joking aside, this is serious work and we couldn't be more grateful to a part of it.

We have spent many years supporting the Bridge of Life through donations and organizing fundraising events, like the TMC Spirit of the Ride, to help BOL provide life saving CKD screenings and dialysis treatments and education to underserved communities here in the U.S. and around the world. Now, we are truly blessed to be able to serve together alongside the BOL volunteers in Uganda and see those efforts turned into life saving action.

This service adventure will take us to Kabale, Uganda, where we will help train doctors, nurses, and community health workers. Our mission is vital: we aim to strengthen BOL's chronic disease prevention program by identifying individuals at risk or in the early stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). By doing so, we can slow the progression of this disease and prevent serious complications.

Participants in our program will receive real-time testing results and a clear understanding of effective strategies to prevent and manage CKD. Over the course of this impactful week, our dedicated team will provide training to local health workers, monitor ongoing efforts, and conduct community-wide screenings for CKD, hypertension, and diabetes for up to 1,000 individuals. Together, we can help them lead happier and healthier lives.

However, we cannot do this alone. We need your support to reach our fundraising goal of $3,000. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of those in Kabale by providing essential resources for training and screenings. Please consider donating today to help us make a difference in this community's health journey!

Note form Beth: As of this moment I've decided to give Dave a break during this trip and try not to sing him random songs after every single thing he says... I can make no guarantees, but I can make videos. Stay tuned for video shenanigans!
