Story
A fabulous, gallant battle against the weather for Form IV (Year 6)’s Three Peaks Challenge concluding with a walk up to a safe height of Pen-Y-Ghent, using some of the skills we were shown at The Bunkhouse, with the reward of a lovely lunch in the warmth.
A huge thank you to our super mountain leaders, Adrian and Matt and to the FIV Team for leading the trip!
Thank you to each and everyone who has already supported us.
We've smashed the target already so let's keep going!
Thank you for taking the time to visit The Froebelian School Form IV Three Peaks Challenge, JustGiving page.
You may be aware that we embark on the FIVe Steps Challenge for children in Form IV (Year 6). This is a personal development programme which encompasses a range of challenges: physical, mental, creative, citizenship and life skills.
This October the children will begin with their Physical Challenge by embarking on The Three Peaks Challenge 2023, walking Ingleborough, Whernside and Penyghent and raising money for our designated charity for the year - Water Aid .
During the challenge, the children will stay in basic accommodation in Ingleton, where they will partake in a range of domestic duties, including cleaning, washing up and helping with the preparation of food.
This walk is, as you can appreciate, an arduous one for adults and is a tremendous achievement for 10 and 11 year olds. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
WaterAid is very close to Mrs Giles' heart, having worked in a country without running water. It is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
