Across the UK, hygiene poverty now affects an estimated 4.2 million adults, and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis has pushed over a million more people into hygiene poverty since 2022.

Here in Medway, we see the reality of that every day.

That’s why The Hygiene Bank Medway exists — to ensure local people can access the basic hygiene products they need to live with dignity, comfort, and confidence. Items like shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, sanitary products, nappies, and cleaning essentials should never be out of reach.

Our local volunteers work with local community partners to get these essentials directly to those who need them most. But we can only do this with financial support.
