Story
On 1st August 2026, The Lark Ladies will be walking 13 miles along the beautiful North Norfolk coast in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society – a cause that has become deeply personal to us and our families. Over 850,000 people in the UK are living with dementia, and every single one of them has a unique story, behind every number is a name, a family, a lifetime of memories
I’m walking in loving memory of the amazing, life-loving Aunty Dot, who is so greatly missed. I’m also walking for my sister-in-law’s beautiful mum Carole, and for Becky’s wonderful mum Ellen, who are both facing this journey with incredible strength. Their warmth, love and resilience continue to shape the lives around them, and this walk is a way of honouring and supporting them.
This 13-mile challenge is about more than putting one foot in front of the other. It’s about standing up for families facing the heartbreak of dementia. It’s about funding research that brings hope. It’s about ensuring no one faces the journey alone.
If you’re able to support us, whether through a donation, sharing our page, or simply cheering us on you’ll be helping to fund vital research and provide crucial support to families who need it most.
