Story

The Muslim Forum (TMF) is supporting Islamic Relief in raising funds to provide humanitarian relief in Gaza. As conditions rapidly deteriorate amid this latest escalation, Islamic Relief remains steadfast in its determination to assist Palestinian families. The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated places on Earth. It has a population of approximately 2.1 million people and since 2007 it has been under a land, sea, and air blockade.

To help fundraise for this much-needed cause, TMF has organised a sponsored solidarity fast challenge for their members to collectively partake in and show unity with the people of Palestine, many of whom have been forced into a state of fasting as a result of shortages with food and clean water available during the ongoing conflict.

Members participating in the challenge of fasting from sunrise to sunset are Sanna Muhmmad, Karen Wild, Nour Khalifeh, Kristina Duh, Dalia Hammoudi, Adam Dakin and Parveen Hossain.

Please sponsor them all generously to show your support and help them aid Islamic Relief to continue delivering emergency humanitarian aid to those most in need.

Simmering tensions in the Middle East appear to have tipped into an unprecedented escalation, worsening the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. Struggling civilians once more face the horror of major airstrikes, with a rapidly rising death toll and hundreds of thousands of people displaced with nowhere safe to go.

“The situation is extremely terrifying. I am writing these words and my house is shaking back and forth due to the intense bombing...As an adult who has lived through tens of escalations in the last few years, I feel terrified. I feel this time we might not be able to survive...The airstrikes are destroying everything. I can’t imagine Gaza after this ends and we survive. I can’t think of the destruction that we will see.” - Islamic Relief staff member from Gaza.

Islamic Relief has been providing humanitarian relief in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1997, serving as a lifeline for communities struggling with the devastating effects of occupation, blockade, and recurring conflict. As Palestinian families face fresh suffering in Gaza, Islamic Relief is calling on supporters to help us provide much-needed humanitarian aid. They are working closely with their local partners to initially focus on distributing medical supplies and survival items. Conditions in Gaza were dire even before the recent escalations in conflict, with occupation, blockade, and recurring conflict causing deep poverty and suffering, with 80% of the population dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive.
